– A Special Performance Expressing Gratitude to All Who Supported the Expo Period –

Red Cliff Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Komei Sasaki; hereinafter “Red Cliff”), a company specializing in the planning and operation of drone shows, executed a 3,000-drone show, the largest number in Japan*, on Monday, October 13 (national holiday), the closing day of the 2025 World Exposition (Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai).

Red Cliff participated in Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai as a Platinum Partner for the Association’s planned events. Throughout the Expo period (including the preparation phase, March 17 to October 13, 2025), the company flew a cumulative total of 140,194 drones, setting a new Guinness World Record™ for “Most multirotors/drones launched in a year.”

Second Guinness World Records™ Certification During the Expo

This marks the second World Record certification achieved by Red Cliff during the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. On the opening day, April 13, Red Cliff secured a Guinness World Record™ for “Largest aerial display of a tree formed by multirotors/drones” by using 1,749 drones during a 2,500-drone show.

The Grand Finale: Culmination of “One World, One Planet.”

Following the opening day, a 1,000-drone show was held nightly, culminating in the 3,000-drone spectacle—the largest number in Japan*—that lit up the sky on the closing day. To express gratitude to everyone who supported the Expo, the performance utilized drones equipped with fireworks and those featuring the Flash Module, which boasts approximately six times the conventional brightness. The display covered the entire night sky, depicting the vibrant resonance of diverse life on Earth and symbolically expressing the “One World, One Planet.” theme.

Furthermore, the official mascot of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Myaku-Myaku, appeared in the night sky. A special production featured a giant, three-dimensional Myaku-Myaku—created using 2,200 drones and measuring approximately 215m high, 185m wide, and 60m deep—delivering a message while waving to the audience. This magnificent finale, woven by the light of 3,000 drones, captivated attendees as the crowning achievement of the six-month-long drone show.

Red Cliff’s achievement of having flown a cumulative total of 140,194 drones was officially recognized by Guinness World Records™ in the category of “Most multirotors/drones launched in a year.” This record was set during the company’s drone show operations at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. This particular title is not an update to an existing record but marks the first certification in this newly established category.

* The 3,000-drone show surpasses the record certified by the Japan Record Certification Association (Japanese Record Name: Japan’s Largest Drone Show, Record Holder: DIG SHIBUYA DG DRONE SHOW, Record Number: 2,200 drones, Certification Date: March 13, 2025) for a drone show co-hosted by Red Cliff on February 28, 2025. This makes it the largest drone show in Japan as of October 13, 2025, according to the company’s own research.

Comment from Komei Sasaki, CEO, Red Cliff Co., Ltd.

“The fact that we were able to deliver drone shows to the night sky of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai for approximately six months is entirely due to the support and cooperation of the audience and all our dedicated partners and stakeholders.

We successfully completed all performances without accident, culminating in the special 3,000-drone show on the final day, and we are immensely proud that this endeavor has been formally inscribed as a Guinness World Record™.

Over these six months, we have continued to paint new excitement in the sky as the company that ‘flew the most drones in the world this year.’ Building on this experience, we will expand our stage of challenge from the skies of Japan to the global stage.

We are committed to creating moments of connection—linking people, regions, and the world—through the drone, our new aerial canvas. We will continue to challenge the world with sky entertainment that illuminates the future.”
