~Creating an immersive experience in the night sky, where fireworks, music, and technology merge~
Red Cliff Inc., a company specializing in drone show planning and operation, will direct a performance featuring 800 drones at the futuristic fireworks entertainment event “STAR ISLAND 2026.” The event is scheduled to take place at Odaiba Marine Park on Saturday, May 23, 2026 (Hosted by the STAR ISLAND Executive Committee; Planned and Produced by Avex Live Creative Inc.).
Red Cliff has been in charge of the drone show production for “STAR ISLAND” for the third consecutive year since 2024. Through its spatial drone choreography, the company has consistently supported STAR ISLAND’s pursuit of “merging fireworks with technology.”
At this year’s “STAR ISLAND 2026,” Red Cliff will play a key role in the overall production—the largest in the series’ history—creating an immersive night sky experience that seamlessly blends with fireworks, music, lasers, and fire performances.
A one-of-a-kind immersive experience where fireworks, music, and technology merge
“STAR ISLAND” is a futuristic fireworks entertainment concept launched by Avex in 2017 to pass down Japan’s traditional fireworks culture to the next generation. Addressing social challenges such as the decline in fireworks festivals and a shortage of successors, the project pursues a new form of expression by merging fireworks, music, and technology. To date, it has held 11 performances worldwide, including in Singapore and Saudi Arabia, drawing a cumulative audience of over 15 million people and gaining high acclaim both in Japan and internationally.

The theme for 2026 is “Sparkle, This Moment -LIVE IN THE MOMENT-“.
Centered around a 1.5-hour scripted story, the event synchronizes 12,000 fireworks, an 800-drone show, sound and laser effects reminiscent of a live music concert, and dynamic fire performances. This creates a deeply immersive experience unique to STAR ISLAND, making you feel as if you have stepped right into a movie.
Furthermore, this year introduces unprecedented new productions in Japan, including an offshore screen floating on the surface of Tokyo Bay, live ensemble performances (strings, woodwinds, percussion, and piano) tied directly to the story, and fire performances on an over-the-water stage.
The event will evolve into the largest-scale entertainment in the series’ history, stimulating all senses—visual, auditory, and physical.
Eight hundred drones will paint a “story in the night sky” in perfect harmony with the music.
In the drone show directed by Red Cliff, 800 drones will synchronize in real time with the fireworks, lasers, and music, transforming the night sky over Tokyo Bay into a vibrant, three-dimensional canvas.
During the drone show, motifs of light that evoke the rhythm and melody of the music will be displayed in the night sky. The light configurations change with each scene, drawing the audience deep into the world of the story. We invite you to experience firsthand at the venue this fusion of technology and entertainment—an experience where space itself becomes the performance.
A city-centric festival you can enjoy all day long, starting even before the main show opens
Food areas and photo spots will be featured inside the venue, evolving the event into a festival-style experience that visitors can enjoy all day long, including the hours from opening until the main show begins.
As a city-centric festival that caters to a wide range of generations—whether it is a family outing, a special date for a couple, or making memories among friends—it will add vibrant color to a full day in Odaiba.
