On Thursday, December 26, 2024, to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Yomiuri Giants baseball team, a drone show was held in conjunction with a special lighting display at Tokyo Tower.
On the day of the event, Tokyo Tower was dyed a vivid orange to reflect the Giants’ colors, and a spectacular show of 400 drones took place in the sky above Zojoji Temple. The drones depicted the league championship in manager Shinnosuke Abe’s first year in office, famous scenes of Kazuma Okamoto and Shoyuki Togo, and the 90th anniversary logo in the night sky to the delight of the many fans who gathered to watch the event.
In addition, as a message to Tomoyuki Sugano, who has signed with the Baltimore Orioles and will begin a new challenge in Major League Baseball next season, the night sky was filled with the words “TOMO YOU CAN DO IT! The show featured 400 aircraft dolphins.
The show was exclusively streamed on GIANTS TV, the official video streaming service of the Giants, for fans from all over Japan who were unable to attend the event.
