A 300-drone show illuminating the night sky above roughly 500 cherry blossom trees
On April 25, 2026, a special performance featuring 300 drones was held at the Hirayu Sakura Festival, hosted on the grounds of the Nagase Suppon Farm.
This community event featured a variety of stages, comedy shows, dance performances, and food stalls, highlighting appearances by the Mino Hida Tourism Ambassadors “Nagareboshi☆” along with numerous other comedians and talent.
Redcliff partnered with SYNC. Inc., the event’s planner and organizer, to produce the drone show as a collaborative performance celebrating the “Hirayu Sakura Festival × Takayama City 90th Anniversary.”
A one-night-only spatial performance blending seamlessly with the nature of Okuhida
The show unfolded a story rich in local flavor, featuring animations such as a traditional lion dance (shishimai) mask and a map of Japan lighting up to pinpoint Gifu Prefecture.
Additionally, the drone show featured a completely custom program with motifs unique to this event and deeply connected to Takayama City, including a softshell turtle (suppon) gazing up at a shooting star and the words “TAKAYAMA CITY 90th” floating in the night sky.
A particularly memorable moment occurred when the “Hirayu Sakura” logo was drawn across the night sky, drawing loud cheers from the entire crowd.
A new style of night sky entertainment, made possible precisely because it was an area where fireworks are difficult to set off
This show was planned as a performance that only a drone show could pull off, specifically tailored for an area within the Chubu-Sangaku National Park designated zone where launching fireworks is difficult.
To make it happen, we conducted on-site inspections to carefully design the safety and flight zones. With strict safety management in place, we successfully delivered a close-range drone performance utilizing the airspace right above the cherry blossoms.
The venue was filled with cheers and smiles from the visitors, creating a truly special moment where the entire crowd felt connected.
