3,000 Drones Paint the “Memories of the Expo”

A special drone show featuring 3,000 drones was held at the “EXPO2025 Futures Festival,” an event celebrating the 1st anniversary of the opening of the Osaka-Kansai Expo, held at the Expo ’70 Commemorative Park on April 12, 2026.

The special performance “One World, One Planet.”, which was originally unveiled on the closing day of the Osaka-Kansai Expo (October 13, 2025), was redesigned as a one-night-only special edition.
In addition to precise formation flying by the drones, the show combined high-brightness flashes from strobe modules and three-dimensional spatial effects from pyrotechnic drones, creating an immersive entertainment experience that enveloped the entire venue.

The show drew about 5,000 spectators to the viewing area and approximately 40,000 people to the overall event. The drone show itself attracted huge interest, receiving around 110,000 applications for viewing tickets.

Giant Myaku-Myaku and the Grand Roof Ring Recreated in the Night Sky

Recreated on an overwhelming scale measuring approximately 210m high, 180m wide, and 65m deep, the performance utilized 2,003 drones.
Furthermore, with the hope of “awakening the memories of that special time,” an performance depicting the Grand Roof Ring was also presented using 425 drones.

The Grand Roof Ring, rendered on a scale of approximately 45m high, 342m wide, and 36m deep, captured the attention of many visitors as an performance that reconstructed the iconic architecture of the Osaka-Kansai Expo in the night sky.

While the Expo venue on Yumeshima is being dismantled following its closing, reconstructing its iconic architecture and character in mid-air through drones bridged the past, present, and future.

A Special Night Made Possible by the Support of 1,870 Backers

This show was made possible through a crowdfunding campaign titled “【1st Anniversary of Opening】Expo Drone Show Special Performance Support Project!!”.
Thanks to the support of 1,870 backers, we were able to deliver a multi-layered light performance utilizing flash modules and pyrotechnic drones, in addition to the giant Myaku-Myaku and Grand Roof Ring.

By bringing together so many people’s shared passion, the project successfully painted a unique, one-night-only spectacle across the night sky.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported and attended the event.
