Red Cliff Inc., a specialist in drone show planning and operation, will present a drone show celebrating the 30th anniversary of City Cable Shunan as part of the “Shunan Winter Tree Festival,” a seasonal tradition in Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
This event marks the first-ever drone show to be held in Shunan City and is scheduled for Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Tokuyama Station Shunan Tree Festival venue (near the Miyuki-dori main stage).

The “Shunan Winter Tree Festival” is a signature winter tradition in Shunan City and a popular event officially certified as a “Japan Night View Heritage” site.
Centering around the JR Tokuyama Station area, approximately one million colorful LED lights brilliantly decorate the streets, creating a magical atmosphere filled with the spirit of Christmas every year.
With 100,000 visitors last year, the festival is well-loved as an iconic celebration of winter in Shunan City.
The main event of this year’s 41st festival is “Fantastic Night” on Saturday, December 20.
Miyuki-dori will be turned into a pedestrian zone, creating a lively, interactive night for visitors with stage events and various food stalls lining the street.
The finale features a drone show! Santa arrives in Shunan from the night sky.
The grand finale of “Fantastic Night” will be Shunan City’s first-ever drone show, held in commemoration of City Cable Shunan’s 30th anniversary.
This show will feature a Christmas theme, with 500 drones portraying a story of light against the night sky above Tokuyama Station. The performance will include Santa Claus flying across the world’s skies and arriving to deliver happiness to the Shunan night, followed by the appearance of various Christmas motifs such as trees and wreaths. Synchronized with the illuminations enveloping the entire city, it will further enhance the special Christmas atmosphere.
In addition, an appearance by City Cable Shunan’s mascot character “Chuppi” will be one of the highlights, offering content that can be enjoyed by everyone from children to adults.
Additionally, the drone show is scheduled to be broadcast live on City Cable Shunan, allowing people to enjoy this special night even from outside the venue.
