〜Night Sky Advertising DX Supporting “Tourism Attraction and Regional Revitalization” with Data~
Red Cliff Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Komei Sasaki; hereinafter “Red Cliff”), a company specializing in the planning and operation of drone shows, will begin offering a service to visualize the advertising and audience attraction effects of drone shows, utilizing the “docomo data square” analytics platform provided by D2C, Inc. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Ryo Takada; hereinafter “D2C”).
This service is a new solution that uses data to visualize the effectiveness of advertising and tourism measures employing drone shows, enabling companies and local governments to utilize them strategically. Furthermore, the analysis results obtained will be developed into a sustainable operation model for tourism attraction and regional events, aiming to solve regional issues.
Conventionally, drone shows have often been carried out primarily for their “buzz factor” and “eye-catching production,” making it difficult to grasp their association with actual customer and purchasing behavior. This new mechanism visualizes not only the estimated number of attendees based on location data but also their demographics and purchasing behavior.
Additionally, by leveraging “Drone Show QR®” (*1), a new technology combining drone shows with 2D codes, it is possible to acquire site visit logs and analyze visitor demographics, allowing for a data-driven understanding of attitude change resulting from ad exposure. Furthermore, in drone shows hosted by local governments, this can lead to an understanding of tourism promotion effects and consumption behavior within the region.

The analysis platform “docomo data square,” which is based on data held by NTT DOCOMO, Inc. (hereinafter “DOCOMO”), will be utilized to measure the advertising effectiveness of the drone show. By using various types of online and offline data—such as location, demographic, and payment data (*3)—from DOCOMO’s customer base of over 100 million (*2), it becomes possible to estimate the number of visitors around the drone show venue and conduct related analysis.
Specifically, by analyzing the flow of people during the drone show, the service can not only estimate the number of attendees but also visualize their demographics (age, gender, etc.) and any changes observed in their purchasing behavior after the show. This service makes it possible to grasp concrete results—”who attended, how many, and how it affected their subsequent behavior”—based on data, rather than merely a subjective effect like “attracting many eyes.” This allows drone shows to be utilized not only as pure entertainment but also as an advertising medium and a tool for regional revitalization.
Red Cliff will expand this service beyond advertising DX for drone shows to boost tourism attraction and the night-time economy. By visualizing visitors’ movement and consumption behavior, the company aims to concretely understand the ripple effects on the regional economy, such as extended stays and increased accommodation demand. The ultimate goal is to build a “sustainable financial model” where local governments, tourism businesses, and sponsoring companies can all share in the results.
