Red Cliff Inc. is pleased to announce new details regarding the drone show “DIG SHIBUYA 2026 / Digital Garage DRONE SHOW ‘Earthshot’,” scheduled to take place in the skies above Yoyogi Park (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) on Saturday, February 14, 2026. This announcement includes the number of drones to be used, the specific production concept, and the release of a new teaser video.
This drone show will be held as an official partner program of “DIG SHIBUYA 2026” (taking place from February 13 to 15, 2026), a technology and art event hosted by the SHIBUYA CREATIVE TECH Executive Committee and Shibuya City.
Additionally, Red Cliff is producing this drone show in collaboration with “DG New Context Festival 2026,” a social implementation festival hosted by Digital Garage, Inc. (hereinafter “Digital Garage”) that integrates technology, culture, and urban spaces.
Approximately 3,000 drones will paint a vision of a sustainable future for our planet across the Shibuya night sky.
In the “DIG SHIBUYA 2026 / Digital Garage DRONE SHOW ‘Earthshot’,” approximately 3,000 drones—one of the largest fleets ever used in Japan—will transform the night sky over Yoyogi Park into a single canvas, unfolding a three-dimensional story told through light and motion.
Moving beyond simple visual effects, we aim to create an experiential performance where each spectator takes home their own “questions” and “meanings.” By painting the night sky of Shibuya, we will create a moment to re-examine the relationship between cities, technology, and humanity.
Drone Show Production Concept: “EARTHSHOT – From ‘Moonshot’ to ‘Earthshot'”
Just as humanity once set its sights on the moon, perhaps the focus for our era should shift toward the Earth beneath our feet and the very society we live in here and now.
The production concept for this show is based on “Earthshot,” an environmental message advocated by Digital Garage that flips the perspective of a “Moonshot” mission.す。
Instead of portraying the future as a “far-off ideal,” this theme reframes it as a series of real-world choices we must act upon today. Through the immense scale and spatial expression unique to drones, we will project a message from the night sky toward a sustainable future for our planet.
