What is the evolution required for outdoor drone shows?
In recent years, the drone show market has continued to grow globally, driven by the increasing demand for immersive entertainment.
On the operational side, however, factors such as slight positioning errors, communication congestion, and the labor burden of setup and recovery have acted as constraints when scaling up the number of aircraft or the complexity of performances.
Particularly in outdoor environments, aircraft are highly susceptible to weather conditions and radio interference, making it a major challenge to balance safety with the quality of the display.
To address these challenges, Red Cliff partnered with manufacturers to adopt a design philosophy that goes beyond simply adding new parts—rethinking “positioning,” “communication,” “power supply,” and “operational methods” as a single, integrated system.
Stability has been enhanced by combining satellite systems with various sensors, and communication has been optimized by addressing not only signal strength but also the data delivery methods.
Furthermore, by automating ground operations such as takeoff, landing, and charging, we have built a foundation that enables safe and efficient operations even for large-scale shows.

In outdoor environments, factors such as radio interference, fluctuations in satellite accuracy, and cold conditions directly impact flight safety. The “EMO 5-JP” combines satellite positioning with cameras and various sensors to create a system that remains stable even when environmental conditions temporarily degrade.
Additionally, the communication and data distribution systems have been redesigned with the assumption of simultaneous flight by a large number of units. This ensures stable control even as the number of aircraft increases.
Furthermore, the inclusion of a self-heating system allows the aircraft to maintain its full performance even during outdoor events in cold regions or during the winter season.

As drone show choreography becomes more sophisticated, there is an increasing demand for aircraft that can fly with greater stability while simultaneously carrying multiple pieces of equipment—such as pyrotechnics and strobe lights—in addition to standard LEDs.
The “EMO Plus-JP” features a structural design built from the ground up—rethinking its power supply, control systems, and center of gravity—specifically to accommodate the mounting of multiple types of equipment.
