Creating the future of the market together by expanding awareness of the drone show and developing human resources
(Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Komei Sasaki; hereinafter “Red Cliff”), a company that plans and operates drone shows, announces that it has formed a business alliance with the Drone Pilots Association (Representative Director: Jiro Yoshino; hereinafter “DPA”). Through this alliance, Red Cliff aims to promote drone shows in Japan, develop human resources, and create opportunities for programming education.
Background and Purpose of the Business Alliance
Since 2021, Red Cliff has been engaged in the business of planning and operating drone shows, and has accumulated a track record of success while contributing to the revitalization of local communities by holding drone shows at fireworks displays and other events throughout Japan. It has also developed innovative initiatives, such as conducting a demonstration experiment of a show with 3,000 drones, the largest scale in Japan (1), and the first successful show in Japan (2) using fireworks-equipped drones.
Meanwhile, DPA has been committed to the development of the drone aviation industry through the establishment of safety standards and the certification of drone pilot skills. As of January 8, 2025, 41 schools nationwide are accredited by DPA.
The two companies have concluded a business alliance agreement based on the belief that bringing together their respective know-how and networks will generate synergies that will contribute to the growth and development of the domestic market by expanding awareness of drone shows, accelerating human resource development, and creating opportunities for programming classes.
Through this alliance, we will work hard to advance the drone show market.

Comment from Komei Sasaki, Representative Director of REDCLIFF, Inc.

The business alliance with DPA is an important step in expanding the possibilities of drone shows. As a creative group in the sky, we have been challenging ourselves to provide moving experiences in the sky.
Through this alliance, we hope to train drone pilots and improve the quality of our shows to convey the appeal of drones to more people and in a safer manner. We will continue to create new value while also looking to contribute to the revitalization of local communities and the field of education.
Comment from Mr. Jiro Yoshino, President of the Drone Pilots Association of Japan
The business alliance between Redcliffe, the largest drone show company in Japan, and the Association, which has 41 accredited schools nationwide and provides drone pilot training and curriculum to improve drone skills, is inevitable for the further development of the drone industry, which is constantly evolving.
Some of our accredited schools are already working with Redcliffe to support the operation of drone shows, and collaboration with a creative group in the sky will contribute to the safe and stable provision of drone services. We look forward to working together to create new value, especially in revitalizing local communities through the development of drone personnel.

Drone Pilots Association of Japan Overview
DPA was established in June 2016 for the purpose of promoting the sound development of drone pilots’ skills and techniques, ensuring aviation safety, disseminating such skills and knowledge, and conducting various surveys and research. There are 41 accredited schools nationwide, and on June 1, 2017, it was accredited as a registered management organization by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism, and is responsible for issuing and administering the “Drone Pilot Level 3 Rotorcraft Level” private certification, which has been acquired by over 13,000 people in total. Instructors who have passed a rigorous qualification test focus on thoroughly honing their piloting skills by utilizing an unstable certified aircraft without GPS support and a trainer code, and are well known for their piloting training in which the provo operation can override (override) the learner’s own provo operation.
