Hitachi-Omiya City
The “Hitachi-Omiya Summer Festival/Omiya Gion Festival -Tradition for the Future-” was held in conjunction with the traditional “Omiya Gion Festival” to revitalize the Hitachi-Omiya Station area as part of the city`s 20th anniversary celebration. The Omiya Gion Festival is a festival of the Soga Shrine, located on the grounds of the Kabuto Shrine in the downtown Omiya area. This year, in addition to the parade of portable shrines and food stalls, a variety of events were held, including a drone show, a gourmet food and beer festival, a drone programming class, stage events, and a YOSAKOI dance performance.
The drone show clearly depicted in the night sky the Mikoshi, the symbol of the festival, as well as motifs associated with Hitachi-Omiya City and subjects celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Suigun Line opening to traffic.
