A One-Night-Only Show: 500 Drones Illuminate Saku’s Local Icons

At the “20th Anniversary of New Saku City – Saku Balloon Festival 2025,” held in Saku City, Nagano Prefecture from May 3 to 5, 2025, we presented a one-night-only drone show featuring 500 drones on May 4.

Originally planned as a collaboration with hot air balloons, the flight of the balloons was unfortunately canceled due to wind conditions. Instead, the show was realized through a unique performance alongside a dramatic burner display.

Despite the change in plans, the event brought everyone together—audience members and balloon staff alike—for a magical and unforgettable evening.
The show featured drone animations inspired by local specialties such as “Saku Koi” (Saku carp) and “Koitaro Mini,” the city’s official tourism ambassador character, drawing enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.
