The night sky over Boat Race Karatsu was transformed into a breathtaking canvas on November 23, 2025. For the first time in Karatsu’s history, 500 drones took flight for a special anniversary show.
The display captivated the audience with 3D light formations of Karatsu Castle, the traditional Karatsu Kunchi festival, and the playful “Ika-guruguru” (rotating squid) from Yobiko Market. This “Story of Light” beautifully celebrated the 20th anniversary of the new Karatsu City, blending history, culture, and the high-speed energy of boat racing.
