Red Cliff Inc. conducted 500-drone shows on each day of the “Prince Mahidol Award Nexus (PMAN),” an international event held in Nan Province, Kingdom of Thailand, over the two-day period of February 3 and 4, 2026.

This initiative marks Red Cliff’s first-ever drone show held overseas. By transporting drone equipment and pyrotechnic materials from Japan, we delivered a special performance on-site that seamlessly fused Japanese drone technology with traditional Japanese fireworks.

“PMAN,” an international celebratory event in the fields of health and welfare

“Prince Mahidol Award Nexus (PMAN)” is an international platform for collaboration in health, welfare, and policy-related fields, organized by the Prince Mahidol Award Foundation of Thailand. This installment was held in Nan Province, which is also recognized as a UNESCO Creative City of Crafts and Folk Art.

For more than 30 years, this international celebration has brought together scientists, physicians, researchers, and public health leaders from around the world who have received the “Prince Mahidol Award.”
Beyond the visits of international dignitaries, PMAN serves as a platform for global dialogue—sharing knowledge, strengthening cooperative networks, and collectively envisioning the future of human health.

The Prince Mahidol Award is an international award established in 1992 through the gracious patronage of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX). It commemorates the achievements of His Royal Highness Prince Mahidol, who is revered as the “Father of Modern Medicine and Public Health in Thailand.”
Currently, the foundation is chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, and the award is presented to individuals or organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the fields of medicine and public health. As of 2025, the award has been granted to a total of 100 laureates.

Recognition of proven track record and technical expertise developed in Japan

Red Cliff has been producing drone shows in Japan since 2021, lighting up the night skies across the country at numerous events, including the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.
The technical expertise and creative direction we have cultivated through these experiences earned high praise, leading to our selection to perform the drone show at this installment of PMAN.

Special performance featuring a fusion of Japanese fireworks and drone shows

This show was conducted in collaboration with Hibikiya Omagari Enka Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Daisen City, Akita Prefecture).
The performance, which fused fireworks and drones, was realized after a preparation period of approximately one and a half years, leading up to the event as we shared our vision with many stakeholders across borders and roles.

On the first day, February 3, a story-driven performance lasting approximately 15 minutes was held at the Nan Arts and Culture Center. Motifs symbolizing Prince Mahidol and Princess Sirindhorn, as well as medical texts and imagery of compassion, were drawn in the night sky to represent the progress of education and science.

On the second day, February 4, a drone show was held near “Wat Phra That Chae Haeng,” the guardian temple of Nan Province. The performance depicted the history and culture of Nan and Thailand, featuring motifs such as the “Long-boat races”—a traditional water sport held on the Nan River—pagoda silhouettes, and the glowing lanterns passed down through the Lanna cultural sphere.

The collaborative performance of drones and fireworks, synchronized with a live orchestra, created an immersive spatial experience where light, music, and pyrotechnics became one. Throughout the venue, attendees were seen capturing the night sky on their smartphones amidst cheers and applause, sharing a moment of profound emotion that transcaged national borders.

Expanding Japanese Content to Global Markets

In this initiative, equipment and materials were transported from Japan, and the installation and operation were led by Red Cliff and Hibikiya Omagari Enka Co., Ltd. Although we faced conditions different from those in Japan—including transportation logistics, radio wave environments, and regulatory compliance—we successfully completed the project by leveraging the technology and expertise we have cultivated domestically.

With this initiative as a catalyst, Red Cliff positions the fusion of drone shows and fireworks—leveraging Japanese technology and creative direction—as “content from Japan” and will actively promote its expansion into global markets.
